strip sander

Post by farley »

Hi
the strip sander goes on the left of the head stock, but
can it be put on the right using the quill side and using raiser to raise up the strip sander to be level with the quill output hub.
thanks in advance

Yes, but because the drive hub on the stip sander is only on one side, to run the strip sander off the quill side you have to turn the strip sander around 180 degrees tand it will run backwards (belt traveling up) unless you have a reversible motor. This is how it is run when you use the chisel sharpening attachment on the strip sander as seen in this picture.
