Attaching a BT3000 saw deck to my (SS 500) NO RAILS

Post by Kentwood »

Kent here, All the post I have read thus far (37) via this forum, on mounting a BT3000 upper table saw system to atop a Shopsmith have been model 505, 510 and 520s, but I have a 500, their are no rails, not even any place to mount rails, but all the post have talked about mounting to the SS (rails) Do you see my dilema. Is their anyone out their in Shopsmith land that has mounted a BT3000 to a non-rail 500 system. I just picked up a Complete BT3000 this last weekend for $20 bucks and yes it actually ran. I'm hopeing someone has done this conversion to a 500. Thanks

Congratulations on the steal. A complete BT3000 for that price is phenomenal. But you do have a dilemma. I have had a BT3000 table system and they are sweet. I wish I had kept mine. I do not know (can not envision) how to adapt one to a 500 table.

My only suggestion is self serving. You could always pack it up and send it to me. I would cover the costs and then some. It would mount nicely on my 510 Shorty.

Why not keep the BT3000 intact? It is a great saw! It Is a great addition to any Shopsmith shop

Agreed, I have two. One is new in box as a spare.
