I won't quote you but having a Forum only for Shopsmith Inc. made Shopsmith tools would have other Shopsmith information creep in. All the Shopsmith tools and the different owners of the brand have a shared history. It would be nearly impossible to draw lines as to what could be discussed on a Shopsmith Inc. only Forum. Where would this Forum be. This site is owned by RLF Brands LLC. Shopsmith Inc was around from 1972 to 2009. My only point here is the machine and ownership has changed over the years. We all have different likes and desires when it comes to Shopsmith, but the Shopsmith is our common bond, be it the Mark V, Model 10 a SawSmith table saw or any of the many tools made over the years. It is here we look for knowledge or share our knowledge on anything Shopsmith. I for one would hate to lose you and your knowledge from this forum to a Shopsmith Inc. only forum.

I agree with you Russ. The title of this forum is Shopsmith Forum. It is not the Shopsmith Inc. or MK V or Yuba forum or... The Shopsmith MK 5 was invented by Magna Engineering not Shopsmith Inc.. If there is another section called Vintage Shopsmith, what would be posted there. My 1955 Greenie is vintage. If I post a project I made on my 10ER where does it go? Do I put it in General Woodworking or the Vintage Shopsmith section since it was made on a 10ER. Then do we have sub categories in Vintage Shopsmith for Model 10, Mark 2, MK VII, etc.?

Personally, I read every message on this forum. I don't understand the angst over posts one is not interested in. Just don't read them.

Interesting that the post number increments, but your total posts did not.

I believe the times are EST.

I agree a separate 'sub forum' would be appropriate, but there would still be some spill over due to historical discussions etc..

I understand your wish to have places for different interests but there is always going to be the topic that gets in the wrong place or a thread going off topic. How many times have we see that. If we had a Vintage Shopsmith section then Dusty may have missed that we started sharing old Mark 5 Manuals which is to go up to and include the first Shopsmith Inc. Manual I have. This was started at Dusty's suggestion for more Mark 5 information and Everett was kind enough to start restoring them and placing them on his google drive for us. I still have three manuals and several parts lists to copy & sent to Everett. All the historical information Everett has collected and those provided by others would it go just in the vintage section? There will always be topics that cross interests. The best filter we can use may be how we title a topic and include the model of Shopsmith used or featured in that title.

I do know a lot about Shopsmiths but since joining this forum I have learned even more. Dusty, Ed, John, JPG and Everett you and others have added to my knowledge and I thank you all for that. I will admit that, unlike John, I do not read every post. I wish I had the time but I don't. Even though I enjoy reading your "Today in the Shop" posts Ed I do not read all of them. I wish I had the time to read everything. For now I will have to pick and choose which posts to read.

Russ, there was a time that I read every post and responded to all of those that I felt I could contribute too. I don't do that anymore. Even though do have more time than I ever did, I no longer enjoy the forum as I once did. It is just not the same friendly neighborhood that it once was.

I thought that I would never do so but I have turned to other interests that now consume far more of my time than does the forum. I will probably always read the forum. There are a few folks here that I particularly appreciate. I will no longer spend the majority of my otherwise idle time here.

Enough said. Do keep up the good work. You, Reible and Everett particularly are doing a great service for the community.

As for me, I'll be far, far less noticeable than in the past.
