Need Advice on Selling Model ER sn3620

jpg thought it might be a rare Shopsmith Table Raising Assembly for the 10E , and as such have some value.



I suspect the grinding wheel dresser is pretty common, (I have one somewhere that I bought back in the 70's and have only used once or twice) and not particularly valuable.

I was wondering what he was referring to. I didn't see anything interesting.

I have the later version on the right. They are indeed very rare.

Out of focus pix of unfamiliar objects tend to create incorrect perceptions.

Now if I had previously seen one of those dressers I would have realized the red part was part of the mystery item and not something behind it. I was searching in vain for the knob/long shaft and incorrectly thought it might have not been complete.

With the much more common table raiser arm and crank. Lacking that you use the armstrong method.

There is a screw with a crank handle that come up through the carriage and pushes on the arm which attaches to front table post.
The parts look like this.

That said, I don't keep the screw part installed in the carriage. So I adjust the height by, loosen the front lock, raise the front of the table, lock, loosen the back lock, raise the back of the table. lock. repeat till desired height is achieved. or in reverse to go the other way.

I was going to take pictures of mine, but it was easier to find them on the internet.

Yes, I have used the table raiser, and it does work well. I just don't like keeping the crank in the carriage all the time, it catches on things that are on the bench, or the pointy end is above the carriage. So I make it work without.

+1 about rocking table. "It actually works very well" and you didn't forget to loosen the riser knobs.

I have in the past started to turn the crank, and noticed way to much resistance. Figured out to loosen both table locks, before I broke the raiser arm, which I have heard is a possibility.
