Mark 5 Miter for the Model 10E & 10ER
The question has come up as to a Mark 5 style Miter for the Model 10's. Yes, Magna made a special version of the Mark 5 Miter for Model 10's after the release of the Mark 5. It is a Mark 5 miter on a Model 10 bar. Below is copy of the ad announcing it.It would have been nice if they would have added the locking feature to the bar.

Re: Mark 5 Miter for the Model 10E & 10ER
Russ,
Will the standard Mark 5 miter work on the 10ER table or will the safety grip fit on the 10ER miter?

This will help others understand the post. It is for badtheba who wrote in Heads Up - Bargain "available"
WARNING: you are now going to want to get one aren't you?
You can't say you weren't warned again.
I hope this clears it up for you. I knew they existed since I have two and I found the ad copy in my files for you to see. Also, several people have told me there was never a complete pistol grip made for the 10ER miter bar, but yet I keep seeing them in pictures. (page 174)

Re: Mark 5 Miter for the Model 10E & 10ER
Dave,
The answer is no and no. The slots in the Model 10 table is different than the Mark 5 table. This miter is all the Mark 5 parts except on a special Model 10 bar drilled with Mark 5 holes. The Mark 5 bar is narrower and thicker so it will wobble" in the slot and the bar top will be above the table surface.

Re: Mark 5 Miter for the Model 10E & 10ER
This Miter was another way Magna Engineering Corporation made upgrades for the Mark 5 available to the owners of the Model 10E and 10ER. The SPT adapters for the Model 10 was another example. They were never going to make a Band Saw, Belt Sander, Sprayer, etc. for direct mounting on the Model 10 since the Mark 5 came out before these SPT's did. Additionally they would no longer make the original Jointer (Model 4E) and Jig Saw (A-34) made specifically for the Model 10's. Even the headrest jointer mount for the Model 10 wasn't available for very long after the SPT mounting kit came out even though the Model 620 Jointer could use that mounting just like the 4E. The SPT kit could be used for multiple add on tools.

MKC Tools makes a miter bar for a Mark 5 miter gauge that will fit a Model 10 table already drilled and tapped. https://www.mkctools.com/10ermiterbarmv.htmchapmanruss wrote:Dave,
