Speed control clip?

I just helped a friend rebuild his speed control and his had a C Clip on it. That doesn't mean that is what should have been there because we dropped the one he had 3 times putting it on the shaft and it could have easily been replaced due to droppage and lostage. Either way, the C clip worked fine.

I used a 5/16" retaining clip with external ears. Works very well!
