Thin Rip Jig

Post by ldh »

This is a handy little jig that with just a bit of sanding on the mitre bar fits the SS nicely. It is well made and priced right at less than $22.00. If others have used it would like your comments.

I have it but never used it on the Shopsmith. Use it on my Jet cabinet saw. Seems to work very well. They run it on sale for around $15.

This looks like a real nice accessory. It would probably eliminate the need for my my newly developed micro adjuster.

Thank you for the input, Idh.

Hi,

If any of you have the ShopNotes Table Saw Tough Cuts Made Easy go to page 46. They have a home built one of these that looks like a fun project. I've seen several versions over the last several years all with similar function.

I'd love to post it but with copyrights.... however I think it may have been in one of the regular issues of shopnotes so you may already have it??? or you might find it by looking around in the free stuff they offer.

Ed

If you go to:
http://www.woodsmithstore.com/w0811.html
and check the cover of the issue I mentioned you can see a picture of it.

Dusty,
Keep on working on the micro adjuster and post the pics as you progress. You never know when you will spark an idea that someone will expand on and all will end up with something really useful for the Shopsmith.

Here is one I made out of scraps and extra parts. There is a measuring tape mounted on each side, one calibrated to the table saw and one to the band saw...
