Hi,

I was able to get mine together without instructions... the package came without them. Another guy who got his about the same time had two copies, my guess was one was mine. He was able to forward me some info so I could check over what I had done before the weekend was over. I've been on the phone and exchanged emails with them a LOT as Earnest was just taking over the company and moving it... I hope I wasn't to much of a pain in the neck but I really liked the product and at least they were trying to get their act together so while it took a while the end results were worth it.

The bad part was that after I got it I wanted to get a bunch of attachments, most of which I now have... so the buck didn't stop with the initial purchase. I have just a couple of other items on next years budget and then I should be all set for a while.

This will be a huge help when the Jointech and SS parts arrive.
One question was answered already, as I had wondered how the rear part of the Jointech Saw train attached to the rear rail. It looks like it fits very precisely.

Great pictures, Thanks!!!!! I'm impressed with the structure of the jointech. It looks like it is well made and designed to work.

I'm sure you answered this before but do you use the jointech fence most of the time or do you go back to the SS fence most of the time?

Hi Ed,

You know it really has to do with what I'm working on. Last season I opted to mount the system on one of my 520's and sort of left it in place as a jointech station. A lot of advantages to that except that I have limited access and limited movement of that 520. Given the space/moveablity issues this was a good idea that never quite develped like I hoped it would. A new shop or shop layout would have been required so since that is not likely to happen anytime soon I felt I needed to go with another option.

This season I took it off that 520 and moved it to my other 520 which is the more easy to move around one. I've had days when when I have had each on and off several times in this configuration. If we are just talking as a table saw rip fence I would say maybe 80% shopsmith rip fence and 20% jointech this past season. Most of this past years projects were not fine woodworking so that explain the ratio. Had I done other projects the ratio might have been very different. For router operations the shopsmith fence is never used so it is 0 for that and 100% for the jointech (keep in mind I also use the jointech table without the fancy fence, like the router workshop guys do (actually their fences).

The other issue is that I have yet to come up with a good storage system for my Jointech stuff. As it is now its a not easy to get to while the shopsmith one is very accessable. That is one of my pressing problems for both the Jointech and my new sled... and for that matter my miter express all of which are newer additions. Too many tools and not enough space.

Ed (reible) you are correct, it is some heavy duty stuff. I received my three boxes of Saw Train equipment today. Each box has a bit of heft to it.
I was a little concerned when the box with the phenolic router table in it had a bit of compression damage to the outside corner, but the table looks good.
Substantial packing materials did their job.
Now to figure it all out while i wait for the rails.

If anyone has received the Saw Train for the 520 recently then maybe you can help me out.
First, let me say that I am guilty of overlooking stuff, it can be staring me right in the face and I won't see it.
But...
Where do they pack the RP-60 router plate?
I can't seem to locate mine in the three boxes that came.
I tried calling Jointech today but they must be off on the weekend.

I'm not misreading the ad., am I? The Router plate comes with the package.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,

To far back for me to remember plus I ordered some "extras" how ever I would check for a box with the part in it as I recall it wasn't loose in the box. I don't know what paper work you got but you might want to check if it is listed and if it might be back ordered. Other then that I guess you need to wait until Monday.

I'd like to help you out, but Santa's number one elf has declared that she is going to wrap all three boxes. So all three now have a Do Not Open Until Christmas notation on them.

But, before she was able to abscond with them, I found the router plate in the box with the floating router table. It was in the table.

Hope this helps.
