Frustrating day!
Well I was given three six foot long 32” maple logs last week. That was my excuse to upgrade my chainsaw as my 20” Poulan is getting tired. My plan was to get a few table top slabs as well as bowl blanks and some spindle stock. I bought a 36” Husqvarna, and then ordered an Alaskan Chain Saw mill. After spending a lot of time setting things up, I went to make my first cut to get a nice flat on the log. I could not get the saw started. I flooded it, but did not know I flooded it! I walked away and took my wife for a banana split. Came home and did some research and finally figured things out, but too late in the day to make sawdust. Maybe today!

Many years ago I had a motorcycle with a 2 cycle engine. I swore I would never again own anything with a 2 stroke engine. I have kept that promise to myself and it eliminated a lot of frustration from my life.

Chris, I bet you'll come to love that big new Husky. I have a 16" Husquvarna 36 that I bought new back around 1990, after wearing out two cheap Homelites in two years making a clearing in the woods to build my house. That little Husky finished the clearing job and de-scrubbed the rest of the woods with nary a complaint. It has since cut firewood for almost 30 years, needing nothing but occasional chains, blades and sprockets. Oh yea, and one fuel line and a brake band.
But I've learned to never leave the choke on for more than three pulls.
I'm envious of your new chainsaw mill setup. My neighbors and I have tons of big dead ash trees that I'd like to mill. But lack of a place to store the lumber has kept me from pulling the trigger myself.

Re: Frustrating day!
I only know Husqvarna chainsaws by reputation which is a good one. I have a half dozen chainsaws or more and have been through many over the last 55 years when I bought my first one. My favorite one to use is a very light Echo that I have used for limbing and stuff up to about a foot in diameter for quite a few years now. I do like my Stihl which works well but since it is a bigger saw and heavier I grab the Echo when I can. I do love the Stihl tool free chain adjustment.
When I go out to cut any distance from home (like more than a mile) I usually toss in at least 3 saws "just in case".
.
I did buy a Husqvarna 27 HP 61" zero turn mower a couple of years ago and I have been very happy with that. The only problem I had with it was tripping over the name when trying to recall it.
I don't know why, it just wouldn't imprint on my brain... So, I just started calling it "The Aardvark" and I still do.

So, you bought a couple of tools? And you had a banana split? You must be a glass-half-empty kind of guy.
