1) Have you tried carefully squeezing it back to correct shape by using a vise?jth737 wrote:Previous owner(s) apparently applied gorilla force to the fence adjustments. Looking for a serviceable replacement. Please PM with price and shipping to 33855.

2) Have you considered the mother ship(SS CS)?

Quadrant is physically damaged - not just bent. Trying to find a lower cost option but may have to consider the MS !

This is why vise repair wouldn't work !

The Jointer quadrant is not an item to come up for sale on ebay often, especially by itself. Even if you find one used, it is used and may have it's own problems developing. You could choose to wait and see if one comes up for sale but if it has other parts with it it can end up costing as much or more because of shipping costs.
I had to replace the quadrant on my Model 4E Jointer and bought a new one from SS. The good news is that is one of the many jointer parts that has not changed over the years.

It appears to be aluminum. Maybe you can square the main part of it up in a vise and then find a welder to heliarc it up.
Then grind or file the slot back to normal.
If it's pot metal I don't know if that would work.

Decided to bite the bullet and ordered from SS !
Re: Wanted - Quadrant for my 4" Jointer fence #505681-B
I have a similar problem and I believe I have an older 505681 Jointer. The threads in the quadrant which appear to be a steel helicoil inserted in the aluminum casting were apparantly stripped by the earlier owner. I ordered a replacment quadrant (PN 502651) from SS, but it doesn't match the original quadrant inasmuch as it has a fixed stud that is drilled for the dowel pin. It fits on the jointer fence bar (PN 5028869). My original Jointer Hub Lever (PN 502890?), the dowel pin (PN 506721) and washer (PN 516077) all fit on the replacement quadrant so I am hoping those parts are interchangeable. The parts list references a hex head screw, (PN 506720) and a guide bushing (PN 502895). The "screw" may simply be a 5/16-18 bolt with a 1/2" head, which I have in stock, but don't wish to trial-fit to the quadrant until I am certain it fits. I am hoping that by purchasing the bushing and fitting the correct bolt, I will be able to use the new quadrant. Can anyone tell me if I can use this quadrant?
