Three methods that I know of. One move the pedal, a good deal of effort but that is what I did. Older versions of the caster assy have this issue which never seems to get mentioned by shopsmith??
Second grind the pedal so it fits, I personally didn't like this one.
Third, shopsmith started sending extra washers which go on the stem which might or might not help. If you have to add too many washers then the machine will not set firm, so give that a try it is the easier method of all the rest.
