Poor Man's Lift Assist

I thought I'd post some pictures. I got the tubing as HD on a closeout some years back. Cut it the length of the SS tubes and it worked great. After I finished JPG suggested I put a spring in the end so it would pop out when I lifted it. So, I pulled it out, cut a plug for the end and drilled a hole so that a compression spring from my collection would be kept in place, put a plug in my lift assist tube for the spring to seat against and it is very easy to lift even for some one who has two bad shoulders, one that required four surgeries last year.

Now make a plug for the exposed end.
