Time for another potpourri thread?

Anyone got their stimulus deposit(s) yet? None in my bank account, I just checked.

Nothing here yet. I did get full refunds for 2 concerts we were going to in Wendover, NV. We had package deals with a room for both. Also waiting our Allstate car insurance rebate. I think that will only amount to around $30 but don't know for sure.

I think I read that we'll get a letter informing us when the checks have been deposited.

Report I heard today is that Wednesday of next week would be the first day that anyone would see deposits.

The "when" isn't as important as that we actually get it. If I have to wait until October and put it in the bank when I get it, I've lost only a dollar or two of interest compared to getting it right now. That's not enough to worry about.

I've spent the day working in the shop organizing, or what every you call it when you spend the day and can't tell what progress you have made.....

On a brighter sided I found the little 1/4 sheet sander and the new pad for it so they are now together. I had one of the two parts at different times but finding them on the same day was great. I really can't believe it still works, this thing is really old.

The second thing I found was an extra set of jointer knives that have been lost for years. Some how they ended up in the bottom of a container of router stuff. I had to have put them there but why, no idea?? Now if I could find the extra set of planner knives it would be great, wonder what I filed them under?

Shop is a mess but hey what else is new? Mostly trying to get the projects together with the hardware I have and to see what I might be still missing to finish that project. A never ending project in itself.

I feel your pain. I have been looking for two router bits for a couple of months now but no joy yet. I know they are here and since they have 1/2" shanks you would think they wouldn't be that hard to find. They will undoubtedly turn up after I have given up and bought replacements.

I had similar experiences for years in misplacing small parts. A couple of years ago I built a special chest for my small Shopsmith parts. I found that having everything in there within reach was so wonderful that I built a second one for my Son to use with his Shopsmith.
All my extra small parts are in this small chest and I can find them now.

I suggest that everyone either build or buy a chest or toolbox with lots of drawers and small dividers to keep your small parts. You won't regret it.

Never thought I'd say this to a guy but, I really like your chest(s).

Any chest or toolbox with multiple drawers and dividers inside the drawers would work. Places like Harbor Freight and Menards sell reasonably priced boxes if you don't want to build one. Once you have a box that allows you to organize all your small Shopsmith parts and accessories, you will truly appreciate not wasting time searching for something again.
Nothing irritates me as much as being in the middle of a job and needing a bit or blade that I know I have somewhere but can't find it to finish the job.

Another suggestion is to put the toolbox on wheels because once you load it with metal parts you don't want to be lifting it again. Wheels allow you to use it anywhere in the shop.
