Bandsaw Circle Jig

Post by jimthej »

Needed to make a quickie disk last night. (My wife's treetop angel was too heavy for the treetop.) Bandsaw was already mounted. Grabbed the circle jig and cut the circle. Looking at the kerf marks, decided to run it past the disk sander. I'm not steady enough to do it freehand. Tried to set up the miter gauge and fence as a quickie angle to hold it in. Too small. Looked at the other end. Circle cutter still in place, hmmm. Dismounted circle jig; replaced mounting bolt with a longer one and put it in the headstock side slot of the miter gauge. Locked down the miter guage; dropped on the circle jig crossbar and pinned the disk. Quill out to meet and sand. Done.
