It's becoming obvious to me that this forum no longer has a moderator. We're going to have to do it ourselves guys. I've enjoyed this forum for several years because almost everyone was friendly, civil, and helpful. I've left two other woodworking forums because they had so much nastiness. Let's not allow this forum to degenerate into bickering and backbiting.

We're all trying to support Shopsmith, to help generate the kind of helpful and friendly discourse to "spur" present owners into new activities, and to make new persons coming in to this forum to consider Shopsmith and it's products.

As I said before, let's move on to woodworking.

OKAY I get the message. I am out of here. I shall keep my opinions on Government interference, Politics in general, individual buying habits and religion all to myself. Mum is the word.

It is not my place to take down a perfectly wonderful forum as this has been.

My last input. I agree we should get back to woodworking but I don't recall much nastiness. Thought the discussion was pretty polite for what most political discussions turn into these days. Don't think it would scare off many folks.

There is no moderator but the Community forum is specifically for topics NOT related to woodworking if I recall correctly.

Anyway, this is the last you will hear from me on this subject (unless of course, something comes up that I just CAN'T resist.

)

Let us all remember that it is pluralism and diversity that gives us strength. It is totally unacceptable to bash someone for there political views. Please stay to woodworking comments. Yes you are being monitored. Just remember for everyone of you who view the world from the left or right, there is another Shopsmith owner who feels the opposite. Let us not surcume to the hate shown by political pundents in the media. They only attempt to divide us.

OK. Enough said from me also. But, as stated above, I thought this was the community forum. Open to things not wood working related. Forgive me if I am wrong. I also agree, as stated above, that there was no animosity in the previous posts just people stating their beliefs and you have a right to disagree or not. So, if you disagree no one is forcing you to read the thread. I was not bashing anyone... simply stating my own beliefs. Just because they may not agree with yours doesn't mean I am bashing you.

Rick, it is good to see you online with us!

Shopsmith definitely needs to resurrect The Shopsmith Journals!
I still watch my copy frequently and it prevents me from asking more newbie questions on the site than I already do.
I was looking forward to the next in the series as I believe it would have highlighted the mark V's abilities in a kitchen remodel. If I am correct.

Hi folks,
just wanted to address a few comments on this thread. Yes the community forum is for discussing topics not related to woodworking. Having said that, I just want us all to respect each other. The Presidential election was a hard fought one with lots of mud slinging from both sides. We have a situation with the economy and the wars we are presently involved in that has brought us to the brink of our current state of affairs. We need to be talking about things that can unify and not divide. We must all give our newly elected President all the support that will be needed to pull ourselves out of this mess.
Now to the second part of my diatribe. I am not the moderator, nor would I want to be, just looking in as an ex employee of Shopsmith and a lover of the machine.
As far as my Journals, they are on hold but I still intend to do them when I see Shopsmith turn a few corners. I would like to thank all of you who supported me when I ran the Traveling Academy and also your ongoing enthusiasm about the Journals.
