I agree with you 100% about supporting our president/government, but not to the point of turning a blind eye to things or actions I consider detrimental to my and my country's best interest. That is the most direct route to anarchy and/or dictatorship. Just because a certain person/party is in power doesn't mean they should be "all powerful". As far as respect, that is a two way street and besides I saw no disrespect in the preceding posts. Only opinions and rebuttals. Unless I am mistaken you are the first to bring up the subject of our new president and may he be blessed and guided to make the right decisions.

To those of you complaining about this thread; I mean no disrespect when I say that by trying to stop us from posting our beliefs you are disrespecting our right to free speech. If it makes you uncomfortable... just don't read it.

Yes the original subject has altered. The shift was relevant.

Back to original subject. There are both "good" and "bad" fabricators of everything. Their geographical location is not a reliable indicator of possible quality(trends/averages yes...absolute no).

The concern I have with SS 'quality'(regardless of where they are obtained) is the apparent(to me) ignoring of surface/finish tolerances. All my 'older' castings which have surfaces intended to mate with another part very nearly polished.

Case in point: The holes in various castings into which attachment tubes are to be inserted are VEERY SMOOTH on older parts, while holes in newer parts are rough! This leads to sloppy fit/rough insertion of tubes into these holes and may cause the tubes to be wobbley(ck out tail stock update thread).

This is not a "CHINA" issue, but a quality item which may be (correctly or incorrectly) blamed on "foriegn' procurement. It is our(WE/SS) problem if we accept it. [Yes we ARE dependant on SS to source properly(quality)]!:)
