Picture Resizing for Posting - Windows 10
Windows 10 PowerToys provides a quick and easy way to resize pictures to be posted on this forum. To use it, you must first download and install PowerToys from:
https://github.com/microsoft/PowerToys/releases (This link was provided by Windows Insider Program)
Then fire it up, select Image Resizer on the left, add a new custom size and set it to 2050 x 1180 (Max allowable size) . I called mine ShopSmith.
Now, all you have to do is right click on an image and select Resize pictures.
Then select ShopSmith and click on Resize.
The original picture was 3633 x 2988 and was resized to 1435 x 1180.

Windows 10 like earlier versions already has software within it to resize pictures. Instead of downloading different software just use what is already there.

Perhaps he is referring to the built in picture editors that allow resizing. I found this new resizer to be quicker (and I don't have to remember the size limitations). Additionally, multiple pictures can be selected for resizing and all done at once!

Re: Picture Resizing for Posting - Windows 10
Older versions of Windows called it Paint. This article indicates that it is called Photos in 10. I don't have a Windows computer and won't have one so I can't look for it. You Windows users need to look at what is on your computer.

See the second picture. Click Edit with Photos or Edit with Paint 3D, or Edit.
Re: Picture Resizing for Posting - Windows 10
One method that works on mine under Win10 is right click on the picture and then left click on Edit. This takes me to the old version of Paint, where resize is easily found and somewhat intuitive. That is what I normally use when posting to this forum. Curious in response to this ? I also looked in Paint3D and it appears to me that you can find a similar feature under "Canvas." I've never used that one. I sometimes use "Photos" to crop, etc. but whether it has a similar resize tool and where to find it are currently mysteries to me.

When I Rclick on a pix, I do NOT get a menu that includes "edit".DLB wrote:One method that works on mine under Win10 is right click on the picture and then left click on Edit. Re: Picture Resizing for Posting - Windows 10
If you double click on pix does it open in Photos? I just learned how to resize in Photos for this post. If yes, you can click on "..." near the upper right. Under that, I see a Resize option. Then there are some options, I'd go with Custom for the forum and 'maintain aspect ratio' just cuz I like circles to be round. Seems viable, assuming yours looks something like mine.
