need help with what tubes too mount the scrol saw to the mark 5. Can't get the coplers to line up length of tubes and part #. also where you guys buy saw blades for your shopsmith.

I don't have the scroll saw but it sounds like you need to line up the hubs to each other hows the DC3300 now
SS 500(09/1980), DC3300, jointer, bandsaw, belt sander, Strip Sander, drum sanders,molder, dado, biscuit joiner, universal lathe tool rest, Oneway talon chuck, router bits & chucks and a De Walt 735 planer,a #5,#6, block planes. ALL in a 100 square foot shop.

dc3300 seems to working really well. Can't get the coupler hubs lined up pipes that the scrool saw mounts to are too short need length and part# number.

Hi,

The manual covers the procedure of mounting the scroll saw on page 5. My guess is that it is just a mater of adjustment.

If you don't have the manual call shopsmith and order one.

If you need information before the manual arrives I or someone can attempt to describe the steps involved.

The scroll saw eccentric tubes (5137779) are listed as the same ones for the band saw and belt sander. The 2" section from the snap ring or eccentric goes down into the headrest or base arm. I found 6" to 9" length tubes in my collection. I recommend the eccentric vs straight tubes as they allow both horizontal and vertical hub alignment.

thanks for all of the help have bolth. How is the right way to align the coupler hubs might just be doing something wrng not much help on aligning the hubs up with the tubes. Is it a 2 person job. also has any one had good look with the lathe tool sharping jigs

I just loosen everything and line things up with the hubs and tighten things down.

I do not own a Shopsmith scrollsaw but a DeWalt. The Shopsmith use a 5" blade? I use blades from Mikes Workshop dot com. The Flying Duchman brand blades are the sharpest blades I have ever used. He will send you some free samples if you ask.
