Card Scraper Honing and Sharpening

Going through my too large selection of tools I ran across a package of German made card scrapers about 40+ years old. I need to hone and sharpen them. I know the process but don't have a steel to flatten them and then turn a burr. I do have a 50+ year old 10" Craftsman 3/8 drive extension. Is that hard enough to do the job?

I have successfully used the round part of a screw driver before so I don't see why your drive extension would not work. I use card scrappers quite a bit so I got one of these to make life a little easier.
