Shopsmith overhaul with pictures

Post by Fireballxl5 »

This is my Dad's shopsmith that he used when I was growing up. He died in 1980 and it has sat silent in my mom's garage. Overhaul is done and thanks to this forum with some questions that I had it is working great. The owners manual saids 1952 and it is a 10-ER.

It looks great. Nice restoration job.

One thing I noted is the extension table is mounted backwards on the bracket. You had commented about the pulleys getting hot in another thread. In the second to the last picture it looks like the pulleys are not in alignment but I cannot tell for sure. It may just be the angle the picture was taken.

Hey Russ
The pulleys needed adjustment so that is fixed. Thanks again for all of the help.

It is always great to see new life put into these plus or minus 70 year old tools. One thing to add about your restoration I liked is the contrast on the bench with the gray legs and natural wood finish. It looks sharp. Enjoy your Shopsmith.
