There is a lot of good information to be found on this site. Unfortunately not everything that is a very good reference can be locked at the top of the list. If it was the new posts may end up starting on page two or further back.

Hmmm, ‘spose that’s so. Today is the big reassembly. I have more to do, but that’s waiting on the chuck I ordered, as most of that work is in the polishing and buffing area, along the lines of “Shopsmith, restore they self.”

Well, I got it back together. It is in no way up to the quality of some jobs on here, but hopefully this machine will keep trucking in, in style, for another 70 years. The bench is going to be done too. What do you think, black legs and brown leg braces, or vice versa?

Looking good!
If it were me, I’d paint both the legs and the braces brown, so that they don’t distract from the contrasting eye candy up top. And refinish (or replace) the bench boards back to nice wood grain.
If you also polish up the tables and fence, you’ll have a real showpiece.
