If someone like Nick is allowed to make those kind of comments, I see no reason why any of us can knot. Tolerance should be spoken here. All opinions should be respected, knot just PC opinions.
Even as I respect Nick's opinion on this matter, and recognize his right to express it, I am pretty sure that there are attorneys and managers that are also woodworkers. Some of them probably own Mark V's and some of those Mark V owners are probably forum members...Just something to think about. I know that I think about it everytime I speak out about product made in China, or what I say about unions.
Sorry for digressing.
This is the problem with generalized statements. No not ALL lawyers and managers are unreliable! However the context must be taken into account. Not all statements are meant to be taken as absolutely serious. Sometimes a tongue in cheek is intended.
My reaction to Nicks oxymoron statement was that he was less than absolutely serious! He was however implying that MANY lawyers/managers are unreliable sources of info. Not all but Some!
Any lawyer/manager who might be offended is in my opinion over-reacting. Nothing was said of a personal criticism of an individual(rather a generalization).
It would be BASHING if it were a personal attack on an individual.
We are all subject to the foibles of being human and none of us is not in some way less than perfect. It is healthy for someone else to point out imperfection as long as it sticks to reality. Delving into imagined or undeserved criticism IS Bashing! Feeling 'hurt' by honest critique is an ego problem. We all NEED to listen honestly as well?
Philosophy rant is OVER:)
