Re: 8 inch clothespin plans
Those look great! I just wish there was a "normal" sized clothespin in the picture to get a better sense of scale.

Got the 10 springs on order.
Does anyone know if the real thing was beech, well at least at one time??

Probably not for these but, back when we still hung clothes outside some of the pins stayed outside 24/7 on the lines. I don't know what wood they were made from but they sure weathered OK and lasted for a LONG time. Long=years and years.

If I recall , and I could be wrong ,, they use to be made from maple , maple wont leach any tannins or stains into the laundry . all though they are only a few left mom still has some you just push down over the laundry and the clothes line that are as old as I am .

Got my springs today. Don't have the large size designed yet but I can show the large spring vs the standard clothespin.

First cut of a design shown. Will attempt to build a 1/2 of one to see how it's starting to look, maybe pine, or if I have some scraps of hardwood that might work, will see.
Plans subject to changes as I go....... so if you decide to try this let me know how it works or just wait for me to make one at some point.
