best place sell accessories?

Post by number3456 »

I will be moving and it's time to thin the herd. I have extra and duplicate attachments and small parts and want your wisdom on where you had the best luck selling your stuff.

Craigslist, Ebay, FaceBook marketplace, FB Shopsmith Sales Group? any other places?

Thanks guys and gals

All those places are ways to sell extra parts. I buy tools to restore mostly from craigslist and parts from mostly ebay. Generally these are parts no longer available from Shopsmith itself. I resell my restored Tools on craigslist.

This is not the place for selling items though. I know there is a thread Heads-Up Bargain "available" which has been allowed by Shopsmith. They do provide this forum to us free of charge but selling items here in direct competition with them is not allowed. Shopsmith needs sell new tools, accessories and even repair/replacement parts to stay in business and we need to respect and support that.

Yes I know this is a not a place to sell items. A lot of the stuff I have is no longer available through SS. I would like to sell to someone who would appreciate the old tools. I am guessing then that eBay would be a good place where restorers would search.

Appreciate the thoughts.

If the items are readily shippable, eBay is by far your best option. Then your potential market is national, making a match with a motivated buyer much more likely.

If you can’t or don’t want to ship an item, you’re looking at a local market only. In which case both Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace are efficient advertising channels.

Thanks BuckeyeDennis!

Though it does amaze me the amount of old replacement parts that you can get from the SS. There’s not too many companies that can make that claim.
