Re: Shorty Drill Press not perpendicular to floor, any ideas?
It has some difference in display format but it works essentially the same.
Wixey showing rotation through 90 degrees to 91.3 degrees (1.3 degrees rotated past 90 degrees)

Re: Shorty Drill Press not perpendicular to floor, any ideas?
The wixey says the wixey has been rotated 91.3 degrees.
The 90 degree point(tube vertical) would indicate 90.0egrees.
The wixey rotated CW 1.3 degrees past that.
WHY?
Because the tube is not quite vertical(UNDER rotated).
I think our earlier discussions re over rotation has been baloney.

That makes no sense to me. If it was under rotated wouldn't the Wixey read less than 90?JPG wrote: ↑Sun Sep 12, 2021 8:09 pm The wixey says the wixey has been rotated 91.3 degrees.

Re: Shorty Drill Press not perpendicular to floor, any ideas?
No, you have to go back to the earlier photo where this one came from, and see the previous photo that showed it at zero. There was a mistake in how the Wixey was placed. In the previous photo it was attached to the top of the bench tube, and then rather than rotating the Wixey counter-clockwise, where it would be on the left side of the way tube, it was rotated clockwise and attached to the right side of the way tube. So it’s upside down and showing over rotation rather than the correct under rotation. That was where a major confusion was introduced into the discussion.

Oh, and I think that photo ended up sideways too? Making the confusion even more confusing.

The 91.3° pix shows the wixey rotated CW 91.3° from level(horizontal).
The wixey is over 90 rotated to attach to the way tube which is 'under' rotated by 1.3°.

Re: Shorty Drill Press not perpendicular to floor, any ideas?
These are the two photos that I was talking about. If you look closely you will see the second photo is actually sideways, and I believe this is the photo that Dusty re-posted above, after correcting the rotation. Also, in that second photo, you can see that the Wixey was rotated incorrectly from zero, further confusing the issue.
Or am I seeing something wrong?

Re: Shorty Drill Press not perpendicular to floor, any ideas?
DLB's pix may show this more clearly.
The first pix is wixey 'level'. reads 0.00 tubes __
The second pix is the same as waytubes rotated CCW 45° past 90. reads 45.0° tubes \__ wixey rotated CW 45°
The third pix is the same as waytubes rotated CCW 45° short of 90. reads 135° tubes /__ wixey rotated CW 135°

Current 'discussion' is re DLB's pix.
Regardless both sets of pix show the action of the wixey. Understanding that is the obstacle to complete understanding of just what IS being demonstrated by a pix of a wixey attached to a way tube.
