The center of the 'nubbins' is about 6" from the hinge pin center.
The trig says you are correct. 6 x sin(.3) = .031415..." 6 x sin(.5) = .0523.... is a bitmore than 3/64.(.006")

5" to that center which is also the center line for the Way tubes.
.3 degrees requires removal of .02622"
.5 degrees requires removal of .04374"

Looks like there has been a lot of thinking, measuring and all kinds of ciphering goin on and it’s all good in the hood. Sorry I didn’t check in sooner but I’m one of those lucky long hauler Covid people and had some issues to deal with. Got a new tool in to accurately mark the evil protrusions and square, make close to perpendicular, this bad boy up. Hopefully over the weekend I can post some pics if I get it done. If I screw it up I will pretend this post never happened.
Thanks for all the input.

And Mike, although you will likely be successful, at least there’s plenty of replacements available on eBay if it turns out bad!

Lift the one end of the Mark V by using the adjustable caster on that end. This changes the tilt of the entire machine.and moves the vertical tubes to "vertical". This could be accomplished with adjustable feet under the legs of the Mark as well.
If done, you would then have to deal with the tilting table but that can be done (is done)) with shims between the table and the trunnions.

On my Mark, if I raise one end 1 click, the angle of the Way Tubes changes .25 degrees. The second click changes that another .20 degrees.
If my thinking is correct, you can move the Ways (in drill press mode) to the vertical position (and beyond a small amount) by using the adjustable height casters.

Re: Shorty Drill Press not perpendicular to floor, any ideas?
1) Mike is dealing with a shorty.
2) The table is adjusted to be perpendicular to the quill axis(two planes one easily adjustable).
3) Making the way tubes vertical then makes the table level in that adjustable plane.
4) Floor leveling makes table level in both planes unlikely unless the floor is perfectly level itself.
5) Vertical/level not meaningful to a drill press unless object being operated upon must also rest on some external flat surface.

They both sit on legs with wheels, both have bench tubes and way tubes and they both adjust the same way.
He wants his bench tubes to be vertical (drill press mode) and thinks they are not. They can be taken to vertical in a number of ways including what I suggested and by wedging or grinding as he has considered.
