Incra Build it System

I was wondering if any of you have messed with the new Incra Built It System? http://www.woodpeck.com/builditstarterkit.html and http://www.woodpeck.com/builditsystemparts.html

It is a system of pieces t-tracks, couplers, brackets, clamps screws and etc that allow you to build various jigs, sleds and etc. I have seen this a few times before and I have been tempted to try it but I haven't jumped yet.

Today Preachtree sent me an e-mail special and I just wondered if anyone out there has used the product? If so what do you think of it?
Opinion, testimonials, observations anyone?????

I've looked at it, I had it on my list of things I want but it did not make this years cut when I had to budget my money. Maybe next year???

It looks like it could/would be very useful for making all sort so jigs and fixtures and you can add/exchange parts to forum even more things... an erector set for modern day woodworkers (I was going to say tinker toys but it just didn't sound right).

If you do get it keep us informed. Maybe some pictures??

I know from experience that Incra makes good woodworking products. I have seen this system for sale on various websites and looks interesting. I haven't had the need for this particular system "Yet", but I may in the future.

Being made by Incra means you can count on the system being well made and easy to use. You cant go wrong if this is a system you will put to use.

I was fortunate enough to have several visits with a fellow from Incra who introduced me to the "Build It System" before Christmas. I make and use a lot of jigs. I find an unending use for them. I have the basic set and am embarrased to admit that family and business pressures have kept me from building any jigs from it. Oddly enough I had the set on my bench salivating over it last night. I paid full price for it and have no complaint. I even considered ordering another at the special price. The rule in my house is never ever by a second one until the first is in use. So I will get busy on using the first one. Yes I do believe it is worth the special price currently shown. fjimp.

I've been looking at those for a little while now. I just keep wondering if the cost is worth it, is it cheaper to build them myself, but than again, would I get around to building them. So, I've come to the conclusion, in the short term, it would probably be worth it to buy the starter set.

Just taking a fresh look at the system this morning and noticed:
This long aluminum runner adjusts from the TOP for perfect sliding action in
any standard 3/4" x 3/8" miter gauge slot. Won't warp, shrink, or swell like
wooden runners.

Went looking around and no mention of a shopsmith version that I could find, any one else find one? I guess it is back to making our own if they don't have the shopsmith version...

If anyone calls or mails them let us know what they say.

Well, they do make several products for shopsmith, so they must have the runners. I'll try an email to them and see what happens.

This morning I built my first jig using the starter kit. A simple jig for use with my router table. I do like the kit as it provides two panels and all of the commonly used hardware for most jigs. I can see I will purchase more panels. In fact I will likely purchase one more kit. I find when building most projects I utilize multiple jigs. It's nice to have sufficient hardware and screws to minimize canaballizing those jigs already in use. It clearly is not the only answer. Many jig I learned about from Nick and his books are excellent alternatives. Yet the pieces from this kit are neat. fjimp

So, Jim, it DOES fit onto the Mark V miter slots?
