Hard to look at

Post by Hobbyman2 »

Was at a local flea market today , out side setting in a snow drift was a 10e - 10er not sure there is a lot of difference in the actual unit since most parts interchange , any way ,the owner said its been setting out in the weather now since last summer, the tubes were rusty, the quill lock was frozen / rusted and so was the carriage lock , the headstock would not budge it was rusted solid to the tubes , cant stop thinking how many folks including me would have loved to have this thing before it got this bad , if for nothing else to make a drill press or dedicated lathe , he said he wanted 100 bks for it, I was thinking it would take at least two to three times that $$ to fix it ,new motor new tubes and hrs and hrs of cleaning and getting things to work again , pretty sure the motor was bad after setting outside the pulleys looked like they could be frozen to the shafts . what a shame .

I don't know why people do that to nice tools. Then, after ruining it, he now thinks somebody should pay him money for it. He should pay you to dispose of it for him.
