stocked up ?
There is a rumor about the trucks convoying from California to DC this week , just a reminder that these folks have the stores stocked with necessities right now , hope everyone is stocked up with a few weeks worth of necessities , a continental convoy is not something I would recommend for them to do , I believe there is a better way , but this is their decision . rumor has it that if the truckers in Mexico follow suit with Canada and the US things will change in a hurry , I have a feeling this is going to make Antifa and BLM movements look like the midget leagues . I have enough lumber stocked up to stay busy for a week or so , hope I dont need any saw blades , sand paper or run out of tong oil !!

I have about all the woodworking supplies I need. I buy my hardwood rough cut whenever I find a great deal so my garage now has around 100 bd ft of hardwood sitting and waiting for projects. I bought a quart of urethane last week so I'm good there too. And, I have lots of extra saw blades on hand for every kind of saw I own. About all I run out of during projects is the little hardware I need for any particular project. That stuff I always end up buying special for each project because it is always something different.
More important is food. But, I'm stocked up there too. There is over 200 pounds of meat in the freezers along with a few hundred pounds of other things. Add around 100 jars of canned food in the root cellar and we wouldn't run out of food here in 6 months or a year.
Hopefully the truckers will settle down and get to work. Who knows what it will take to get them there?

I think they should all pull into the next truck stop and shut down. A couple days with NO freight moving will some attention FAST. Much quicker than a confrontation.

I would not be afraid to bet the feds will shut down parking and fuel stops across the country , that is how dumb politics are now . Trudeau froze the accounts shut off their fuel supplies and than told them to leave with no insurance no fuel ? he told them to break the law of three nations ,,, speaks volume
My thoughts were they should all park the rigs at home, spend the time with their family , call in sick and or work on the truck, I hear parts are hard to get with this covid thing . JMO

I think it be poetic justice if the one's attempting to snarl up the supply routes cannot get parts for their vehicles(or fuel!). Speaking of which they can afford to waste money on fuel to perform this idiocy?

Re: stocked up ?
My guess is there will only be a small amount of trucks that make it all the way ,the ones that do will be joining in as the convoy gathers in numbers most trucks are only licensed insured and have the permits and fuel accounts to operate in a few states , that said my guess is they will be picking up and loosing trucks along the way , will be interesting to see , there is a lot more than fuel money at stake for these folks . JMO in the past 2 years politics and covid have done more harm to the supply chain than these folks will do .

Re: stocked up ?
I might be totally wrong, but I feel that this trucker "revolt" or "protest" will settle itself out if given a bit of time. I feel there is a much greater danger coming from today's Russian invasion of the Ukraine.
I expect the war there to drive up fuel prices in the US really fast. That will cause much higher inflation than we have seen in the past year. When that happens, expect the stock market to sag significantly and gold prices will rise.
The time is overdue for the US to increase our oil production right here at home and open up our own pipelines to deliver more barrels of oil. Doing that will help minimize the damage from things going wrong in Russia.
In addition, we need to make big adjustments in interest rates. If we are going to lower inflation, we need to raise interest, and not 1/4%. I would like to see rates for borrowers up around 6-7% for mortgages so house prices start to decline and the inflation slows.
But, that's just me. I'm no economist, but the past has proven that my ideas turn out better than our expert economist's ideas.
