Re: 518245 - Scroll Saw Hold Down Foot Assembly
Thanks! The assembly I received didn't come with a hexagonal post. It was a rounded D-shape and it fit right in the original hole. The foot was easily removed, so I could insert the post from the top and not need to remove the table. It was an easy job.chapmanruss wrote: Fri Apr 15, 2022 11:46 am BigAl,
If part number 518245 - Scroll Saw Hold Down Foot Assembly Includes all the parts reference numbers 56 through 63 it should replace the existing gray Scroll Saw assembly. I would contact Shopsmith first to confirm that. Previously there was an upgrade kit for the gray Scroll Saw that included not only the Blade Block Upgrade but also the Foot and Guard Assembly plus the clear plastic cover. That is the upgrade I did to my Scroll Saw. There is a warning in the complete upgrade instructions that in some cases the hexagonal post may not fit in some holes that the original 3/8" round post went in. It suggests filing or drilling the hole to 25/64" to allow clearance.
As I said before I have not owned a Teal Scroll Saw so I have not been able to compare all the differences between the gray and teal Scroll Saws.
