One of the reasons for reporting a post is "The reported post is off topic".

Yes, there are a lot of off topic posts by the members here. They are contributing members know by us all and we don't report it.

A first time poster that resurrects a 4 year old thread with an off topic post should be viewed as suspect and in most cases that suspicion has proven true.

A post being reported does not get you banned. We have human moderators that make the call and they do an excellent job. Thank you!
