Having the Jointer in place on the Mark V will have it in the way of raising the Lock Handle. I have to remove the Jointer to raise my Mark V 520 into Drill Press Mode because the Shaft Guard protecting the Hub is in the way. Looking at the pictures in the online catalog they show the Jointer with the Dust Chute as mine looks. The top picture is at an angle, so it does appear not to be aligned but the lower picture with the collection hose shows it aligned to the tabs.
Russ - Thanks so much for the clarification and for the additional information on the castings. It sounds like this is something that I'll need to work with, and probably comes down to different tolerances on the machine + safety guards installed, etc. but at least I know that I have everything installed correctly. I just need to finish getting the spindle/coupler alignment dialed in. I'm closing in on it - down to about a 1/16 of an inch vertically and horizontally, but I think I can do a bit better.

Thanks

I have the ones that are offset by about a 1/4" or so, not the bandsaw ones that are offset more.
Thanks,

I'm looking for some 5/8" ID steel tube for aligning headstock spindles with SPTs. The tube should slip onto spindles at either end when fully aligned. Unfortunately some of the tools like the joiner use a 1/2" spindle requiring some kind of adapter, or a wider tube that can slip over the hubs instead. The power coupler is flexible enough to account for some misalignment but I'd prefer to get a better fit. Once the spindles are aligned and collars are fit onto the support tubes everything should stay in alignment, unless you mount an SPT on different machines.

The Eccentric Mounting Posts allow horizontal adjustments by rotating the eccentric around. Vertical adjustments are the same for Eccentric and Straight Mounting Posts. If the Eccentric Mounting Posts are rotated so the Jointer is as far outboard on the Headrest as possible it would give more clearance for the Tie Bar to pass by the Jointer when being raised into Drill Press Mode. It is the same idea of using the special Eccentric Mounting Posts for the Bandsaw to clear the Tie Bar by having it even further outboard on the Headrest.
