Custom Table to accept non-SS miter bars?

Post by TLW6380 »

Has anyone thought about building a custom table that would accept non-SS miter bars to be more compatible with other jigs on the market?

I am toying with the idea of using an extruded aluminum frame that mounts to the SS riser and mount a custom wood table, perhaps even with a melamine surface, to the frame. Then I could add whatever rail slots that I want. Technically, it could even have side by side rail slots to accept different miter bars, including SS.

Thoughts?
