Oh, he is aware alright. Only watched him speak about it in at least the last 3 or 4 videos on social media. What I will say is this is NOT a new phenomenon. Prior to the new owner, Shopsmith has been slow on delivery on some items for several years now. I purchased the last of my wishlist items (accessories) for Shopsmith (in case they go out of business one day) a few years ago. Some items took a good 6 months for me to finally receive. At that time they charged my credit card on product purchase, NOT delivery, so it was frustrating waiting for it to arrive to say the least. To live in the Shopsmith world, one has to learn a great deal of patience and/or suffer frustration unfortunately. For me, it was more the latter. Hope your delivery comes soon though...NOT trying to add to your frustration - merely sharing my experience.pprime wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2025 7:45 pm I just ordered a carriage table height wheel a week ago and CS says they are expecting parts to arrive around 3/27. Not sure how/why new customers are waiting 2 months for a new Mark 7. This is situation that would normally drive me BS crazy, but since I have a workaround I will wait. I wonder if the new owner is aware is these part shipping delays.

I would have to see the paper transactions to be convinced that Shopsmith ever charged an account at any time other than upon delivery.

Dusty,
I don't have to prove anything to you, does someone's word not mean anything in this country ANYMORE? I had multiple orders placed and in consolidating them via a phone call and emails they messed up and overcharged me. They had to credit it back, fixing their mistake, before any products ever arrived to my house or were even shipped.

Re: ShopSmith Future Direction
The reason Dusty is questioning the charge @ purchase rather than upon shipping/delivery is the long standing SS policy to NOT do that.
When did all that occur?

JPG,
It was in the previous post where I stated, "a few years ago".
Asking questions is fine, stating a different opinion, sharing a different experience, etc. are fine. Having to provide physical evidence to convince someone that what I say on this forum is true is NOT fine and implies that I am a liar for NOT providing said documentation. Sorry, but I am NOT going to go back through credit card statements to try to PROVE that what I said was factual. I don't have the time or energy for that. That kind of expectation of providing proof for something like this crosses a line IMHO, which is is why I called it out.

Re: ShopSmith Future Direction
I simply stated a fact. I was not calling anyone out. I just said that I would have to see the paper transactions to be convinced that Shopsmith charges prior to shipment. I have been buying from Shopsmith for about as long as anyone on this forum and I have never been charged prior to shipment.

Re: ShopSmith Future Direction
I've placed around 10 orders over the 2 last few months, only to cancel one small part because they didn't ship it with the rest of the same order. I called CS to asked about it. The answer was it is "pending" on a delivery to SS. I asked the CS agent to credit my CC for my delayed part, and they did with no questions asked. I found that part on ebay and got it a few days later.
I'm a retired IT guy and typically our systems were maybe a bit more modern, and we would make updates based on customers' feedback. IMO, If a part in not in SS's inventory, the portal should provide more accurate information. Its not rocket science to update the portal status of a part being on 'back order'. Customers should have a choice to place an order, or not, based on the inventory.

Re: ShopSmith Future Direction
Agreed! Shopsmith has much room for improvement in the "customer service" area. Especially with regard to pending orders and parts availability.

Re: ShopSmith Future Direction
I have experienced that, buying at a live Mike Young demo at Lowe's. This was in 2020 IIRC, shortly before Covid and SS re-defining what a live demo was. At the time, both Lowe's and SS said that they do not charge at the time of order, only upon shipping. Shockingly, each blamed the other.
