If you can post pictures of the Bench Ends, I would appreciate seeing the differences.

The older bench leg (original to my recently restored 10E) has the original sticker and no holes for caster assemblies. The three main holes in the top for pivot base or tail rest attachment are in a straight line (I’ve circled two additional owner-drilled holes).

The newer bench leg has no sticker, but has holes for caster assemblies. Its three primary holes are offset.

Interesting. The early Bench end with the SS decal has the same "extra" holes as the one in the picture I posted. Was it factory or similarly done by owners for mounting the Headrest?

Model 10E's S/N's 1076 & 1077 oldest ones I have restored. Mark 2 S/N 85959 restored.
This was a very quick restoration project, due to the fact that the machine was in pretty good shape to start. It had some surface rust on the bench ends to deal with, but minor enough to avoid a paint job even there. Also the plating on the quill depth gauge and spring housing are still in great shape after polishing…
The big upgrade it received was the addition of a speed changer - this is one I picked up on a business trip to Orange County, CA last year. Got it for $75 from a gentleman who used to do a lot of Model 10 restorations, and this was about the last piece he had left. He had been dropping the price for months with no takers!
Anyway, the overall system cleaned up very nicely, and is now looking for a new home in Massachusetts…

Do I see the thin-walled Way Tubes? Does it have the hollow Table Posts?
I don't see the Upper Saw Blade Guard and was wondering if it has the later plain one seen on the bottom in the picture below.

I was given a really rusty Greenie from a man who's father purchased it new in 1953. It was in really sad shape but it was his fathers pride and joy so I promised to restore it and use it. The really nice thing was that it came with a really cool homemade case and a lot of accessories from 1953. Attached are some pictures of what I received.
A little back story about me. My father was given a hand me down Greenie when I was in middle school. I learned to use it properly and by high school was making some pretty nice projects with it. I always wanted one and this was my opportunity.
After removing every nut and bolt and replacing all of the bearings and belts, here is what I ended up with. Thank you to everyone here for their posts over the years as I could not have done this without them.

Your restoration is very well done. It looks great. It is too bad the Carriage was broken. Do save the usable parts from the Carriage as they could come in handy someday or someone else may need them. The Mark 5/V 500 Carriage for the original Table System is no longer made so replacement parts have to be found used.
The cabinet is a real plus to have a place to keep the accessories. I see a few newer accessories in there. The Blade Guard set, Fence Straddler and Power Coupler are some of them. It shows how later parts and accessories are usable on the older Mark 5's.

It is nice to know some history about it. Do you have the serial number for it? I am curious as to when it was made. Something I noticed is it has 6 screws to hold the Belt Cover on the Headstock Casting and Motor Pan. When the Mark 5 was introduced in March of 1954 the Belt Cover had 8 screws holding it on. The number of screws going from 8 to 6 changed in 1955. Shortly after that change the Headstock Casting went from the "A" Casting to the "B" Casting.

Thank you for the compliment. I am looking at the original documentation that came with it and it might very well be a 1955. The serial number is 265359.
