The Torch has been Passed, sorta

Post by john »

I haven' been here for quite some time due to health issues, and the selling of our house. The latter has caused me to sell most of my tools but one of our grandsons expressed an interest in the ShopSmith so it is still in the family. Then I found out that the rental condo we are going to has a small workshop for tenants. We rented a storage locker in the building directly opposite the workshop so I started saving some of the smaller power tools and hand tools and hope to continue making some smaller projects. The first one will be to complete a music box for our latest great grand daughter, which was started last November before life got in the way.

Since our house was largely packed by our children and other family members, the tools are scattered in many boxes stored willy nilly in the storage locker so my first chore is to find them and organize them so I know where they are when I want them. That may take a while! It was an interesting process downsizing from an eleven room house with a full basement and garage, to basically a five room condo with a storage locker. I'm sure some of you have had the experience and know what I am talking about.

Since all is well now and we are getting settled I hope to be back active on the forum sometime soon, just without my ShopSmith.

Take care.

I can relate. I still have all my tools but, for a variety of reason, do not make use of them anymore. This does not measn I have lost my interest. Looking forward to future conversations.

If we do this right we all end up there. Glad to hear your grandson is interested in Shopsmith! Must have had some good examples.
