Sheave surface condition

I have a question for anyone who rebuilds headstocks. I've been taking apart and cleaning up a headstock that was stored outside for roughly a year (or so I was told). After cleaning up the sheaves I have one that still has some pitting. Having no experience with Shopsmith, I thought I would ask if the pitting on sheave in the picture should be a cause for any concern:

This is after cleaning up with a scotchbrite dremel wheel and Brasso, as well as some light sanding.

I doubt the belt will care about the pitting.

Go for it. I believe that sheave will work. I am running a pair that is worse. Close your eyes and inspect the entire surface with your finger tips. If you feel no protrusion (snags) it will work.

Thanks for confirming. I can feel a slight roughness with my finger, but nothing that would catch or even cause extra wear (maybe it would shorten the belt life by a day).

Run it!
If your talking about the pitting inside the bore, the pits will just hold more oil.
