There is also a craftsman toolbox that has most of the smaller attachments like the chuck and tool rest along with the sanding disc attachment

In my opinion,

I think you got a great deal.

I bought several $100.00+ machines (each) with different attachments.

This got me to the level of having most attachments.

I consider you are money ahead depending on the plans for your future setup.

urbanmtndew1,

Unless there is something wrong with any of it you got a good deal. The Mark V is a Model 500 with the original Table System. Getting the Bandsaw, Jointer and Dust Collector will have you ready for all kinds of projects.

The Bandsaw has been upgraded to the Aluminum Table and still has the original Cast Iron Table with it. Some users like the older Cast Iron Table while others prefer the features available with the newer Aluminum Table. It has a different setup for the Fence which looks to have been adapted from something else. Hard to tell exactly from the picture. The picture below shows the Fence which has the Fence Rail on the opposite end plus the Table Extension and Circle Cutter options. Having the Fence Rail on the back end keeps it out of the way for removing the Cover and Blade Changes.

Having the Bandsaw on a Power Stand is handy since you can work on the Mark V without the Bandsaw in the way and go back and forth as needed. Many owners like to keep the Jointer mounted on the Mark V as its use goes hand in hand with the Table Saw. The Jointer looks like it could use some TLC. I see some rust removal in its future. Keeping it all clean you will like having the Dust Collector.

If any of the items are duplicates of what you already have and you don't need second ones, you could sell those individual items to recoup some of your investment.

Larry,

Thanks for that Fence information. I only knew about the one I post the picture of and the earlier version without a "rear" lock. I would like to know more about the Kreg Fence.

My second bandsaw has this setup. I don’t have any other aluminum table upgrades. I do more freehand cutting than using the fence, and I also have the cast iron table and like it too. Somewhere I think downloaded a manual, not sure which tablet, hard drive or cd it is hiding on.
I did find and download the manual again from Shopsmith. The first part of the manual is from Kreg and the second half are the Shopsmith instructions. Hope this helps.

Russ,

I have the Kreg bandsaw fence. I was lucky enough to buy it from the mothership while they offered it. It works well, though I haven't given it a lot of use so far. I have seen forum posts about it before, but the search on this forum doesn't work as well as it used to. I find it difficult recently to locate older threads that I know existed. I found an image of the Kreg bandsaw fence online. Check out the pics at the link below for it.

P.S. Here is a forum pic of the Kreg bandsaw fence, but it is disassembled.

Thanks Larry and RFGuy for the information on the Kreg Bandsaw Fence. That appears to be what urbanmtndew1 shows in the picture he posted. I always enjoy learning new things about the Shopsmith tools.
