12- Flat Sanding Disk Uses

I use my flat sanding disks to sand small parts by hand. I have an old Black & Decker Workmate that I clamp them in. It has plastic jaws so it doesn't damage the arbor.

I can't remember the last time I had a sanding disk mounted on my Shopsmith.

I use mine often. When I want to round over corners on rectangular or square stock, such as signs that I make, I simply start on a flat edge and move around to the end. I try to use the same speed and pressure on each corner. It works well and a lot faster than using a router.

I use mine to flatten the bottom of rings for segmented projects. I actually max out a disk from old counter top and mounted it to face plate for larger rings. Use spray adhesive to attach rolled sanding paper.
