Planer Key

Post by thainglo »

Has anyone fabbed up a safety key? Just figured out why my planer wasn't working - didn't come with a key! Going to put an order in with Shopsmith, but would like to start playing with it now.

Appreciate any tips and thoughts.

It took less than a week to get several Planer Safety Keys from Shopsmith so they were in stock 2 weeks ago. I would recommend ordering a couple keys and wait on them. There are electronics inside the Speed Control Box that could be damaged if you disassemble or stick something into the box to override the lock.
