New guy with his first Shop Smith!

well it is quite simple really.

All you have to do is copy and paste the the [ Quote ] (opens quote box) and [ / Quote ] (closes quote box) brackets that you see when you hit the quote button of someones post. ( notice the Spaces between the ['s and the word Quote on both sides. Those are there so it does not make the Quote box.

So for in my last reply all i did was hit the Quote button then I copied the open quote brackets and pasted it in every location that i wanted to break up the quote boxes for my reply. Then I also copied the End Quote Brackets as well and pasted them in pales at the end of the sections where i wanted the Quote box to stop.

For example:

[ QUOTE=a1gutterman ]Picture 19 table plates might be for dado or even molder applications. The center one for saw blade or sanding disk maybe.[ / QUOTE ]

Well I did before as well. But, then I'll go with it as it has been played out.

Noticed that i again placed the spaces in between the brackets and the command inside them and again behind the command so you can see what I did in order to get the multiple Quote boxes.

If i had not placed the spaces in there it would look like the same as in my earlier post.

That is not a problem either as you see below I have two quotes from two different people in this post I cut the middles of the message out for length and this is just for show actually.

But all i did was hit the quote button in the reply from chaelese then copied the entire quote and then hit the back button.

I then hit the quote button a different poster this time JPG's and the copied the other qote to the quote box.

BTW It IS a ShopSmith, Just not a Mark V or 5 or 10/ER.

And I do it in only one post thought it took a little longer to get to the reply box it is really not that difficult to do.

One more thing I forgot to add in there i use a program called Firefox for my browser Inter Explore is a horrible browser to use. IMO

But I still think you can do this in IE.

If you right click on the Quote button or the reply button and then select open in new tab option that is in teh pop up box then you can open up several replies or quotes of different people in that thread and copy their quotes pasting them in the same quote box.

then you can respond to as many people in a thread that you want at one time in one post.

I am NOT familiar with text manipulation in this environment.

Well after you hit the Quote button you will be sent to a reply box that has the quote in it already.

then just left click in the text box and then click on select all option. then right click again and click on copy.

then go to the message thread hit quote on the other person that you wish to quote as well and then paste your previous quote in the text box either above or under the new quote.

Hard/cumbersome way to "cut" but it apparently works. Thanks.

you could also copy it by using the Ctrl+c option as well but then you still have to select it all first.

then you can paste it in place by using the Ctrl+v if you prefer

well there is the click and drag method or the right click and select all method. it your choice.
