I recently purchased the Shopsmith Maintenance DVDs by Nick Engler. He recommended using a Black Scotch Brite Pad as a waxing pad on the Shopsmith tables, way tubes, etc. He explained that the pad would clean of the oxidation while applying the wax.
I searched various stores and then went online to try and find these pads. I don't know if they stopped making them or changed colors. Has anyone else had this problem?
I would highly recommend these DVDs who do any maintenance on their Shopsmith. Besides being able to observe someone actually doing the maintenance, Nick covers a variety of issues that are not dealt with in the owner's manaul.
I also bought a portable DVD player. This makes it easy to maintain the Shopsmith while going through the DVD.
