To determine your monitor resolution
1. Right click anywhere on your screen desktop and select "Properties"
2. Click on the "Settings" tab
3. Look in the lower left area where it says "Screen Resolution"
4. Remember the two numbers (i.e. 1024 by 768)
5. Click the CANCEL button to return to you desktop
6. Take the poll quickly before you forget the two numbers

My monitors are set at 1280 x 1024.

Taking this poll to determine the maximum width to make posted photos that are placed side by side. Even though we are limited to a max photo width of 800 pixels, they can be placed side by side giving it the appearance of being wider. Like this:

If the total width exceeds the first monitor resolution number, the photo will NOT fit on the screen and folks would have to scroll around to see the whole image. You might be asking "Why do you even want to do this?" and the answer is "Because we can!"

Incidentally, this photo in it's entirety is the equivalent of 1100 pixels by 800 pixels.

Looks like a list of "classic" resolutions.

Mine is 1680 by 1050 or rotated 1050 by 1680. The monitor is a 22" "wide screen".

Any reason you just don't make the image the size of your screen and then use it that way?

Did you post(attach) these at 550 x 400? How did you locate the right side?

Very interesting, but couldn't follow instructions. Had to go to control panel then display. When following instructions, I had a window with only one tab. It said General.

BTW - My resolution is 1024 X 768
