Cleaning a gravity feed spray gun

I have been ask to post the rest of the pictures for cleaning a gravity feed gun.

In this picture we have the gun broken down. Gun body,cup and top,and from bottom to top in the left hand side of the picture we have the air cap,fluid nozzle,fluid control knob and the fluid needle with spring. There is also a small strainer that you will see in the next pictures.

In this picture we have the dissembled gun soaking in lacquer thinner for about an hour. If you are using water based products use water and dish washing liquid. You'll want some solvent gloves for the lacquer thinner and Lowe's has them for about $5.00. After soaking remove parts and clean internal parts with the small round brushes that comes with the gun. Old toothbrushes work well on the outside. Rinse and let dry.

In this picture I have begun to re-assemble the gun starting with the fluid needle and spring. The control knob holds this in and goes on next (see final picture). Next replace the fluid nozzle as in the second picture.

Remember that strainer I mentioned. It goes in the fluid passage before you reattach the cup and top.
