addendum to the navigation instructions that etc92guy posted:

if you are using firefox with noscript,
then you have to allow isa-geek.net to run scripts (at least temporarily).

otherwise, the main body of the page and the links list are not there and the page is blank.

Good point Clark, yes my menu is written in javascript, and you must have scripting enabled in your browser options (not just firefox) in order to generate the dynamic menu frame and pull up the main-body frame. Everything else is written in ASPX, and should be coming down to the browser as HTML only.

The purpose is test your computer savy.

Make sure your patient. It's a 2mb+ download so it will appear blank until it's done. (that's unless your issue is firefox related as indicated in other post)

Wood Butcher, the plans are there. Look at the screen capture of the menu below, the plans link is highlighted in red. When you click on the PLANS link for any project, it has to download a PDF file from my server to your computer, and these PDF files are typically 1.5Mb to 4.5Mb, so it may take some time to download. Your status bar on your browser should inform you of the download progress.

I never announce a new project on the forum unless it is complete and the plans are available for download and no, I do not charge you anything...

Evidently I am not capable to achieve what you all can.....cannot download any pdf.....just doesn't appear.

As a point of reference - I just downloaded the Plans for Gumball Machine V1 and it took 2 1/2 minutes. This is a relatively simple pattern. During the download I have absolutely no indication that anything is happening.

Assuming you can download pdf files from other sources.

It sounds like you don't have Adobe Reader installed on your computer. It is a free program. All you have to do is go to http://www.adobe.com/ and click on the "Get Adobe Reader" rectangle. That should enable you to download and read PDF files after downloading and installing the reader.

if you bring up Windows Task Monitor (assuming you are on a PC) and click on the Networking tab, you can sometimes see that something is going on that the computer would not otherwise let you know about.

if you can get to the menu that Tom showed in #16 and click on Plans, nothing seems to happen in the browser until the entire document downloads to your computer except that the data transfer rate for your network connection suddenly goes up. after the entire document downloads, then Tom's script loads the pdf viewer plug-in for your browser and shows you the plan in the main frame. you can then use the save feature of the viewer plug-in to save a copy on your hard drive.

because of the way that Tom does his scripts, nothing seems to happen during the download and you can not right click on the "link" and tell it to save the target. the gun rack plan is a bit over 2MB so it takes a little bit to download even over DSL. (Tom, please note that this is an observation and NOT a complaint on my part.)
