Spring project ideas for you???

Post by reible »

Hi,

I know a lot of times beginners or even season veterans woodworkers are looking for a simple yet interesting projects. Add to that the season of the year and that fact the either you or your SO (significant other) might be into gardening or trellis building...

The project is one I've build some years back and had needed a minor repair this spring. After replacing a pulled out screw due to a young neighbor thinking he could use it as a ladder... (both issues are now taken care of I hope) I took a couple pictures.

It is made to hang off the house but that is a minor detail, the detail that makes it interesting is the way the 2x2's are rotated for a different look. Without the mounting issue one could experiment with rotating the other members as well.

I'm hoping that most of you can figure out your own details but if this confuses you feel free to ask questions. And without farther delay is the trellis in pictures.

The LOML says it is a cute trellis. Personally, I like the "hitching post" on the side of the house. Where are the horses?

Hi Tim, The LOYL has good taste, well at least in trellises, the rest I don't know about. You can tell her that later in the summer it will be covered in 4-1/2" glowing white blooms (pearly gates morning glory). Would you believe me if I said the horses were out horsing around? How about if I said the posts are for grape vines? Not that the critters ever leave us any grapes, but, at least that what the vines are supported on, well the wires that run between posts anyway. Ed
