Greetings from Oregon II

Post by boomer503 »

Howdy

I'm also from Oregon and registered today. I have owned a Mark V 520 for about 9 months now.

I used to have a whole garage full of free standing equipment that I had to sell a few years ago to try and pay some medicals bills when I had an "Event" with my heart and lost my home and businesses.

So now I can do some woodworking and refused to load up on equipment that was just too expensive and just space hogs. The Shopsmith I have is perfect and I have completed an 11 foot entertainment center for our family room and am now doing a 5 footer for our bedroom. Both are built ins. Next, I redo our bathroom cabinets, then a couple of kitchen projects!

Welcome. It's a great website for information, ideas, and just unwinding with others who share experiences. Yes, pictures are fun.

WOW, I did not know Oregon was the new hotbed of Shopsmith users. I live in Murray Hill.

Yeah, The Oregonians are taking over. Pretty soon, Shopsmith will have to move their headquarters to the west coast.

Well, I'm not in Oregon...yet.:D
But I'm 20 miles south of it quite a bit.
I split time between the Crescent City Ca. area and the Eureka, Ca. area.

So sorry to hear of the "event" and subsequent side effects..Sad..Glad you're back on your feet and makin' sawdust. I got my Model-500 in 1986 and am only now getting enough time to do what I want. Am looking for other users in the Corvallis area. There is a 10-ER at the Habitat store which is in fair useable shape and has a Magna Jig-Saw too.
