I once saw a blade come through the metal cover on an old Powermatic planer. It was not pretty. No one was hurt but everyone in the shop was SCARED S---LISS.
I saw two bad cuts there as well. I didn't hang with that job long! (It was on of those you don't have time to do it right but we have time to redo it shops.)
