I'm using XP Pro. The audio problem was that Nick moved his mike away from his mouth. Whenever he turned to his left, the audio came back loud and clear. I would like to see more of Nick doing his thing. The concept is great.

Windows xp home audio only on one side or channel otherwise real good.

My initial introduction to Shopsmith back in '83 was an infomertial on TV. My daughter said "Dad, you've got to come and see this".

A huge and rapidly growing number of people now make their purchasing decisions and buy on line. The Shopsmith Channel could be a powerful new marketing tool - way to go Nick!

Note to our friends having trouble hearing the audio. On the "Hands Online" site - click on Help (it is located over by the SS Logo). This will allow you to download appropriate software.

I'm excited about the video presentation. "It's a Good Thing", to quote someone else in the media.

But, I'm now with another problem I don't know how to fix. It appears that I am the only one with no audio; all I had was a high level of noise because I had no audio with the volumn turned up high.

I'll have to get one of the grandkids to come to my rescue. Just hope the clip doesn't get pulled before I get this fixed.

I don't know what this tells me but the video presentations on thewoodworkingchannel, routerworkshop and the onlineshopclass all work fine.

All inputs, especially from you media guys, will be greatly appreciated. Guess I need to join a "Windows Media 9" forum.

Proof of Concept, Hands Online

Now I'm really impressed. I have solved the audio problem (which was really a connection problem) and I have revisited the SS Channel with audio.

This will work and I am excited. I hope that it grows to its maximum capacity soon. I will be anxiously waiting to hear when the next webcast will occur.

Really I am waiting for when those of us outside the Dayton area get the opportunity to participate; until then, I'll just have to be satisfied with "thewoodworkingchannel" and "routerworkshop".

I wish someone would let this Mac user in on how to view. I am updated on all the software involved but.......

I watch videos on other woodworking sites with no problems. I suspect the development is not quite complete.

I think the unstable audio was due to the microphone setup that Nick was using. When he turns his head one way the volume increases and when turned the other way the volume decreases. Should be an easy fix. Other than that small problem I was able to see and hear the entire video without any trouble.

Fixit,

You beat me to the punch. The primary problem with the sound is that the microphone ends up over Nick's shoulder and unless his shoulder can talk:D , you're only gonna hear him clearly when he turns his head over that shoulder.

That issue aside, I think this a fantastic idea and hope it takes off. We do alot of web conferencing where I work and it is the next best thing to hands-on training.
