just got my Mark 5 from my Wife's grandfather as he no longer uses it. Already had to disassemble the thing to get the speed dial to work agiain, and think I've got it down.
Its a 1957 model and I'm going for a complete restore. I was curious if anyone knew some of the following things.
1) paint colors or numbers that match the 50's "green" and gray.
2) it hasn't been used in a while so any tips on what would need to be cleaned and where to oil the machine would be helpful
3)He was always a big fan of this machine and said that he loved it but can't remember how to use it or what goes where. If anyone has a parts diagram I could look at that would be a big help.
thanks,
Alex

Welcome, glad to see you made it over from OWWM.
One place to start is to read this thread on restoring a mark v

This will keep you occupied for quite awhile. Use the search function for different problems or questions you may have and you will get a lot of answers. If that doesn't give you the answer, ask. Someone on here will be able to answer it.
Good luck.

You found the right place! These guys are 1: very knowledgable , 2: more than willing to share, and 3: they are a fun bunch. You are in good hands here. They will have you up and running in no time. The sawdust sessions are excellent, don't skip them.

Welcome to the forum. Besides the information that already has been shared, another couple of good but not free information are the following two links. Both are very informative, excellent video and sound and if the budget permits, very useful.
